What are art challenges?

Every month there’s a new art challenge prompt in our Discord server! Everyone is welcome to take part in these fun challenges. The winner gets bragging rights and a fun decoration for their profile in our Discord server for homeschoolers!

When are art challenges?

Art challenges begin on the 1st of each month when Anne, our founder, delivers a fresh art prompt to all of our members with the Art Crowd role, which you can grab in the Channels & Roles tab at the top of the channel list in our Discord server!

There are 25 days to complete the challenge! Participants have from the 1st to the 25th of the month to create a piece to submit for the monthly art challenge. Then, voting begins on the 26th!

How do I join art challenges?

Start by heading to the “Channels & Roles” tab at the top of the channel list in The Homeschooler’s Chat Discord server. From there you can select the Art Crowd role which will receive a notification ping when game nights are starting, as well as a special reminder prior to the event.

You’ll receive a notification in our ⁠#monthly-art-challenge text channel on the 1st of each month with a fresh art prompt to work on for the next 24 days.

All entries must be submitted by the 25th of the month, when voting begins. You can submit a piece at any time before the 25th of the month by sending it in the ⁠#monthly-art-challenge channel or via direct private message to @hsrc on Discord.

You’ll get a reminder notification 10 days before submissions are due.

Check out the “Events” tab at the top of the channel list in The Homeschooler’s Chat Discord server to subscribe to automatic notification about 24 hours before the submission is due!

Who wins?

On the 26th of each month every participant’s submission is posted in a special text channel in our Discord server for all users to vote on. Voters select a winner based on which piece they enjoy the most or which piece best represents the prompt in their opinion.

The creator of the piece that receives the most votes is declared that month’s Art Challenge Champion!

The Art Challenge Champion is awarded a fun decorative “role” in The Homeschooler’s Chat Discord server which includes a unique emoji to display next to their username until the next art challenge voting period begins. Plus, bragging rights!
